Volunteer Opportunities

The Cooking for Life program seeks volunteers for the following:

  • Volunteer Chefs
Every Cooking for Life series requires a local volunteer chef to teach the hands-on cooking component of the class. We are recruiting chefs, culinary professionals, or people who like to cook and work with a group. The volunteer chef must attend each 2-hour class for the entire 6-week series. We provide all chefs with a Chef’s Guide that includes weekly recipes and teaching tips. Click here to download our Chef’s Information Form.
  • Childcare Providers
Childcare is provided free-of-charge at all Cooking for Life classes so that parents have an opportunity to participate in the class. Childcare providers are asked to come to every class for a total of 2 ½ hours of childcare per class for six weeks. Childcare is usually in a separate room from the class and many toys and games are provided for the children.

  • General Volunteers
General projects are available for Cooking for Life classes. Individuals are needed for the following projects:
    • Dividing bulk spices and flour into individual portions
    • Assembling participant binders
    • Assisting with Cooking for Life bulk mailing

Please email Liz Jaquette if you would like to get involved with the Cooking for Life program.
