Marissa Parisi is the Executive Director of the Vermont Campaign to End Childhood Hunger. She is considered an expert in developing sustainable programs, strategic planning, organizational development, and fundraising for non-profits. Her commitment to ending hunger in Vermont stems from an acute understanding of the interconnectedness of social justice issues and the fundamental role that hunger plays in strengthening our communities across the entire age spectrum.
Marissa grew up in Upstate New York and worked with her mother to provide regular, nutritious meals to the children in her home child care center. Marissa saw the difference that made in giving all of those children the crucial nutrition they needed in their formative years. In Marissa’s adult life, as she has been the primary care provider for loved-ones in her life, she has utilized her interest in nutrition to harness the power of food to nourish and heal.
Prior to joining the Vermont Campaign to End Childhood Hunger, Marissa was the Director of Donor Relations at Planned Parenthood of Northern New England. Marissa received her Master of Science degree in Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College, School of Human Services. She is also a member of the Intervale Center Board of Directors.
Marissa lives in South Burlington with her husband Michael, her dog McKenzie, and her cats Monty and Monday. She is an aspiring beekeeper and is always looking for new recipes to use with her CSA farm share.
